Restorative / Fillings
Restorative Dentistry
Dental fillings are used to repair teeth that have cavities or teeth that have minor fractures and cracks. Restorative materials can range from composite resin to silver amalgam to gold or porcelain. Most dental fillings require a local anesthetic to numb the tooth, then the decay is removed from the tooth prior to a filling being placed to restore the tooth.
Dental Fillings
Depending on the material used for the filling, there can be almost no restrictions for eating and drinking after the procedure is done.
Cosmetic restorations can also be done with a little-to-no invasive procedure to create a more esthetic appearance, this is commonly called “bonding”.
Each case requires a specific plan to restore the tooth. The choice of material and amount of restoration needed can allow cost and time to vary.
